Idag firar vi Åbo dagen!
Efter nästa veckas fredag, kan vårt projekt läggas på @aboakademi s lista av FÖRSTA. Det blir nämligen första gången som Åbo Akademi leder evenemangen under #forskarnatten som huvudvärd.
Det finns dock mycket mer spännande och viktiga saker på Åbos och universitetets lista av första. Se ett urval på bild nummer två.
En av våra personliga favoriter är Finlands och Nordens första kvinnliga professur: Alma Söderhjelm. Men tänk att Åbo också skickat studenter på det vi idag kallar ”utbyte” sedan 1313! Det är i den traditionen av 700 år av internationella kontakter som också flera av vårt projekts medverkande har kommit till Finland från andra länder och varför mycket av programmet går på både svenska och engelska under #forskarnatten2021

Did you know that the first students from Finland (then Sweden) where sent to study in Paris already 1313? It is a long tradition of international exchange that has brought people to the city of Turku and Åbo Akademi, to work and study.
This is something we want to celebrate today & in our project, by having programs in English and Swedish as well as welcoming people particularly to the following parts of the Researcher’s Night event:
Et in Arcadia Ego with Guillaume Jacquemet in the Turku Cathedral at 20:30.
Chemical Gardens and Inter-Active Tables with Phat Huynh at Lilla Fabbes at 22:00.
The concert Tipping Point at 23:00 the Sibelius museum.
